Alif — Muslim Keyboard

Alif is built to respect your privacy. This policy explains what the app does with data — and, above all, what it does not.

What you type is never collected. The Alif keyboard does not read, record, store, or transmit the text you type in other apps. There is no keystroke logging of any kind.

Your phrases stay on your device

The phrases you save or edit are stored on your device and shared with the keyboard only through a private, on-device App Group container.

iCloud

So that your phrases survive reinstalling the app or moving to a new iPhone, your edits, your own phrases and your chosen order are also stored in your personal iCloud account, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage. They go to Apple, not to us: we have no server and cannot read them. Turning iCloud off for Alif in iOS Settings stops this, and the app keeps working with a local copy.

Full Access

The keyboard requests Full Access for two purposes: to read the phrases you saved in the app from that on-device container, and to count how often its keys are used and on which days. Those counts contain no text.

Analytics and crash reporting

To improve the app we use Google Firebase (Analytics and Crashlytics). This collects aggregate, non-personal information: app and keyboard usage counts, screens opened, device model, operating system and app version, approximate region, and crash diagnostics. It is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising, and is not shared for cross-app tracking. Firebase processes this data on our behalf; see Google's privacy policy for details.

Purchases

Premium purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment details, and those transactions are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

Alif does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available here and inside the app.
